OK. Lets take another look at this shall we? When I first saw this sneaker, I thought to myself, “What in the blue, red, orange and white hell is this?” Now that I have gotten te back info on why the sneaker looks like it does I have the say, “What in the blue, red/orange and white/black hell is this?”
(thanks to nicekicks and opium)
I like… No, I love the idea of mixing art and sneakers. I plan on doing something really special for Sneakers and Shoes for 2009 and beyond when it comes to art and… what do you call those guys who work on shoes?
Anyway, the Air Jordan 7 has a unique colorway that is based off of the art of Milo. the connection is that Micheal Jordan was wearing the 7’s when he won Olympic Gold in Barcelona Spain of which is where Milo is based. Oh and the artist himself pass away a few months before the Olympics started.
Take a look at this:
Yes… you see it right, you are not dreaming
You see? That is Woman and Bird by Milo. Looks familiar? The AJ7 practically looks like the artwork.
With all the info above in mind and me really loving the idea behind the sneaker, I still feel like this:
Side Eye Of Death
I think it could have been done WAY BETTER than it was done. I still think it is a collectible and will show your dedication to your footwear collection, but I wouldn’t be caught dead in them unless I was going to a sneaker event or something related. Many comments on these sneakers on various sneaker sites. My personal favorites are Nicekicks and Sneakerfiles. This whole thing is crazy. And no they are not fakes.
EDIT:
Nicekicks.com has event info and even more pictures that you can see here.
