Selfridges – Worlds Largest Shoe Department Store Opens

Looks like the ladies get all the attention. If only guys can have something like this… but would guys even go if there was one?
So anyway, the store is open, and has been open for s while. Check out the quote from Lifestyle @ Yahoo:
Measuring approximately 35,000 sq ft, the department is the largest project Selfridges has ever undertaken. It contains six salons and 11 boutiques or ‘themed apartments’ that have been uniquely crafted to reflect each brand – Chanel’s is a reflection of Coco Chanel’s apartment in Paris, while Jimmy Choo’s is adorned with hand-painted gold foil wallpaper.

Yeah I read this over a month ago but I wanted to still post about it so here it is. First heard of it on Running With Heels. At first I wasn’t too impressed but then I went over to H Williams site and had to change my mind.

While watching TV with my wonderful Mom, you know like all good sons do in their spare time, I saw this commercial that was man funny and I just had to make a post on it. Like to see it? Here it go:
DSW has a bunch of these type of videos on YouTube and they are pretty funny (the ladies might get the jokes more than the guys though). I thought of doing something like that for this blog… but that would take up WAY too much time. I can’t even get my main website the way I want it LMAO But it would make for a nice show if someone did it.
Never browsed DSW for anything as far as kicks before. It looks pretty decent as far as getting an everyday pair to wear. Not too many sneakers but many shoes and yes slippers. Lots of slippers.

This actually seems like the corn-ballyist idea I have ever heard… but I actually like it. The shoe is heated.. with batteries. Depending on the setting the warmth can last for 3 to 8 hours. Not bad.
What’s better is that the batteries are rechargable so there is no constant battery buying needed (not sure what happens when the rechargables stop working though)

Oh man, I have been so slacking in posts. Ladies, tell us guys what prices you pay for footwear LOL What’s even funnier is that I don’t see these shoe makers tell you ANYTHING about some technology that went into the shoe to make them comfortable. Just because women have a higher tolerance for pain doesn’t mean they don’t want “Zoom Air” in there 6″ high heels.

If you are into footwear in general (like I am) or specifically into woman fashion shoes, this is a place you need to bookmark. I am not even close to sure how I ended up finding this place (other than trying o look up Beyonce’s super high heel painful shoe that she can’t seriously wear anywhere other than a photoshoot), but I am glad I landed there.
They have a pretty big listing of normal to exotic shoes that you may want to see. It is also helpful that they tell you the maker and link to where you can get a pair (if they are still selling them).
And have you ever heard of a site called Shoetube??? lol Incredible. I don’t believe it. Oh and don’t forget to check out the featured shoes too. My only critizism of the site is that it needs to be more museum and show more art, descriptions, reviews and such. Make it a real experience online as oppossed to a links archive to where to buy the shoes and who made them (of course that is very important… but I still want more).

You know, I was not aware (or maybe just didn’t pay attention to) the fact that sneaker and shoe companies sponser celebrity parties. Even have a “red carpet” type walk in and such.

One Man’s View On Sneakers And Shoes
Here is one guys take on the love/hate relationship of footwear. More specifically sneakers. LOL this guy goes off on how people want sneakers more than shoes. I do not agree with half the stuff he is saying but I have to say that in my budding collection of footwear their WILL be shoes in my collection.
A grown man should have a few pair of shoes you know; For business and for pleasure. Having a focus on shoes is one of the reasons why I created this blog (although I have to admit I mostly focus on sneakers over the past year, I do have a few shining moments where I posted some noteworthy grown and sexy gear).
I know I don’t get too many comments on my blog, but I do want to know, whats your opinion? Should it be all about sneakers or all about shoes?

This is grown AND sexy with a cowboy twist (with a lemon “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” type look). I would love to wear this, but then again I would have to buy a bunch of clothes to go with it just for me to work the shoes.
I just have nothing else to say about this except its a must buy for those who are making that bread (or are married and together they are making that bread lol) cause I don’t see many people buying 400 dollar shoes… now 200 dollar shoes would make more sense (I rather go to Syms, Burlington coat Factory or Barney’s and get the same shoes for 50-100 dollars).
I was talking to my friend today about shoes and she was like “260 dollars is a whole lot of shoe!”. I neglected to tell her that I run a footwear blog and that I spent more than 500 dollars already this year or Jordans and WILL be spending allot more before the year is out on sneakers and shoes (yes I know that is ironic… or something like that). I also didn’t tell her that I think 200 – 300 dollars for high style shoes is normal and that sooner or later you will have a pair in your closet if your into footwear. By the end of next year I would have bought 2 pair of dress shoes and at least one sneaker (I am just so sneakered out from this year that I am sure I won’t be buying sneakers for a while… unless i see something historic or special) and spend around 400 dollars to do it.
OKAY, I’m blabbering… all I’m saying is if you are into footwear and think the shoe makes the outfit (or breaks it) then you will spend 200 – 300 for it.

If you buy sneakers by the parcel then you probably can afford this (even though no price have been given). This special Escalade with its special grill that looks allot like the new CTS will be a nice touch when you step out the suv with your band new Air Jordan 23′s.
I think its ok, but much like a good suit or an outfit, if you got bad looking shoes on, then it just doesn’t work. I have to say I just do not like those shoes on this Escalade.
I just don’t like the look at all.
If you are going to put the CTS front on, then put the sides on too. And with all of that done, you GOT TO PUT BETTER SHOES ON THAT WHIP!!! Hell, leave the SUV the way it looks right now and put better rims on it. You can change the whole look of your car just by doing it and everyone knows it. Right now it looks sporty/racing… why? I don’t know about the fat (phat) lip and who is going to see it (your boys will), but the look of the car is pretty hot.
Some people say that rims are going out, but the reality is that the best way to make your car/truck look different from others is to change the shoes. Around my area black rims with silver trim are popular. Also what is coming into play (finally cause I like them) is the shoes that look like flying disks (more on that later) .
Anyway… these are cool.For you ballers out there, try something different for once and instead of putting them on a Dodge Charger or Magnum, try a Lincoln or a Subaru Tribeca or something.
