Diggin In The Sneaker Crates

Diggin in the Sneaker Crates: @RonnieFieg Edition – THE OLIBERTE GUNSMOKE ADIBO

THE OLIBERTE GUNSMOKE ADIBO BY RONNIE FIEG

(they don’t look comfortable but damn they look good)

Told y’all I was gonna make up for not following what Mr Fieg has been doing all this time. I got to really open those crates for real cause he got some juicy grown man ish on there.

DETAILS:

The feel and hand to this leather is perfect, its soft yet rugged and adding a nice leather lining helps keep the construction of the upper sturdy. The condensed crepe soles are a bit different from what we are used to seeing and matches nicely with the rest of the shoe. To really understand what this shoe is all about you must feel them in person, the craftsmanship is flawless and they really make for a unique pair in your closet. Priced at $110, a limited run of 48 pairs will be available this Friday December 17th 10am Est. at the David Z

Now BEFORE YOU START ASKING ME about how you can get them, just read the detail… but if your a little lazy, well then I’m writing this for you… the sneaker WAS on sale a while ago. You might find it on eBay if you are lucky.

Diggin in the Sneaker Crates: @RonnieFieg Edition – RALPH LAUREN THE BURNT RED RANGER

POLO RALPH LAUREN FOOTWEAR – THE BURNT RED RANGER BY RONNIE FIEG

Another creation from a guy who knows his footwear and what materials to use to make it happen. Nothing really more to say other than its a good look.

Diggin in the Sneaker Crates: @RonnieFieg Edition – Clarks Saddle Collection Dessert Boot

CLARKS ORIGINALS SADDLE COLLECTION BY RONNIE FIEG | DESERT BOOTS

(put them on my feet NOW)

Clarks is one of the classic looks that has somehow managed to stay on the scene even as other companies have come and go. Now, or should I say back whn this came out, it gets the Ronnie Fieg ook.

Here are the details:

It’s been amazing for me to see Clarks stay extremely relevant for 15 years, one of the very few “brown shoe” companies to do so. When working with the Desert Boot, It was important for me to stay true to what Clarks Originals is all about, just added a classic finish and colors to the timeless classic. Priced at $95, all three colors will be available this Friday November 19th at the David Z. flagship

The price seems to be always right when it comes to these kicks. If you got them when they came out, you re the lucky and the few.

Diggin in the Sneaker Crates: @RonnieFieg Edition – Cultureshoq x Ronnie Fieg

THE SEBAGO NEXUS PROJECT – CULTURESHOQ X RONNIE FIEG - detail02

THE SEBAGO NEXUS PROJECT – CULTURESHOQ X RONNIE FIEG | A CLOSER LOOK

(wow)

Another pair of hot as fire shoes from the man himself. Is it art or is it footwear? And the pictures he take are fantastic!!!

Details from the blog:

For the fourth installment of the Sebago Nexus Project, CultureShoq.com and I present two new styles that I’ve been excited about since we went to Dominican Republic early this year. Priced at $140USD and limited to 48 pairs per style, the DT lug sole comes in a premium crazy horse brown leather with a removable kilt and leather laces, and the DT High is comprised of oily chestnut suede with a removable kilt/tassels. You can purchase these boots tomorrow Friday October 29th at 10am EST at the David Z flagship store as well as online at Davidz.com. Shots by@Sqmunro

Since this went on sale way back in October, I am guessing that they are gone now. Only 48 pairs makes them pretty exclusive and no question these things are works of art.

Diggin’ in the Sneaker Crates: Converse X Size? Poorman Weapon HI

(on a stack of Sneaker
Freaker magazines I’m getting these)

See now this is hot
folks! For whatever reason I need the Converse Poorman to be a
collabo, otherwise I just don’t like them by themselves. And this
collaboration is exciting for me to look at. This is definatly
going in my picture blog of style… Oh I guess you don’t know
about that Sneaker/Shoes project yet… It’s ok you will

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates: Ronnie Fieg

(total heat from Ronnie Fieg)

I made a mistake. I should have been following what Ronnie Fieg has
been doing way more than I was. Hell, I should be wearing a pair of
his designs right now. I made this statement on Twitter and I stand
by it: if your top ten or 20 kicks/shoes of 2010 don’t include
Ronnie Fieg, then something is wrong with your list So to make up
for my error I will be focusing on Ronnie Fieg in my “digging in
the sneaker crates” series this month way more often then I would
normally focus on anyone or any particular brand. So don’t get mad
at me if for the rest of the month you see Ronnie all over the
place.

Air Max 360 Rejuvine8 – Preview Shots

(man, these things reflect)

For me, these kicks at the time I got them, are the second most comfortable sneaker I had ever worn (at that time, the top comfortable sneaker I had ever worn was the Reebok DMX 10) . They were light and pretty flexible.

And reflective…

Maybe that put people off, because they were hyper reflective, maybe because they were a nice bright green, or maybe it was the history of air printed on the sides of the sneaker.

One way or another, these kicks ended up on sale, and I bought them for 79.99 at Dr Jays many years ago. I guess, in some ways, that is what other people are doing today with the Air Max 2009 and that is the 160 price was too high, but once it went down to 129-139, all of a sudden, they were everywhere.

But once you put them on and wear them, you see why they are worth 160 and are more willing to buy it at that price too. Already did that once, and will be doing it again this weekend (getting those Air Attack 2010 in black/neon)

Plan on seeing a review of these kicks, more pics, and so forth once the site opens up. Just diggin in those sneaker crates…

Nike Shox USA… USA… USA…

(now these are some old kicks)

I don’t even remember when I got them, that is how old they are. And because I haven’t worn them in years, when I actually put them on a few days ago (to go work out… which I ended up not doing), they did some weird squeaking and just felt like someone scratching a chalkboard without the chalkboard.

While I don’t plan on doing a full review of these kicks, I do have a preview 2 minute video of the sneakers coming your way as well as some pics.

Man, I am digging in those crate boy… for real, I think I got some sneaker and shoes that I think deserve to get some shine.

Air Jordan 22 Omega Wallpaper…

(nice and yellow)

If I had to say one good thing about the Air Jordan 22… ok ok, other than the sneakers comfort level (very high)  and the ability to swap out cushioning pads (really nice)

So let me restate that – one of the best parts of the Air Jordan 22 was the sole. it looks so nice and it seemed like allot of thought went into it.  The best part is that not only does it look good, but it is very fuctional too.

So I thought to myself, it would make for a great wallpaper.

More to come, just thought I would give a taste

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates: Pony + PPG = Cars on Kicks????

(did anybody get these???)

As I go digging in those crates, posts from the past many years from as many sneaker and shoe sites possible (including my own), I find these gems. I remeber when i first saw it and I thought to myself that this is a great idea but I wasn’t sure how people would recieve it though. I am not sure if it sold out or not, but I do remeber it taking a while to get off the shelves in NYC (not to mention that it was still avaiavle online in most places).

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

Personally I wanted to get a pair. I liked the idea, the look of the “paint” and the style as a whole. Holding it in my hands the sneaker looked REAL crisp.

I haven’t seen it applied to any other sneaker since, unless I somehow missed it. I was hoping that they try it out again for other designs, special editions and so forth but sadly it hasn’t happened.

If you collect kicks as something of a history of what was going on in the industry as wellas in culutre, lets hope you have these because it most certainly was an interesting look.

Who says digging in the sneaker crates can’t have reviews?

(I swear these kicks could have looked WAY better)

Remember the Alpha Omega Pack? Remember how is stayed on the shelves? Remember when the price went down and everybody started wearing only the Air Jordan 1′s (Alpha)?

Hmmmm… looks like Diggin in the Sneaker Crates just got a little meatier… review coming soon on the main site. More preview pics coming here on the blog.

Its all part of my debut for my new site… now I just have to finish it. :)

beGrown… beSexy MEN: UBIQ 2009 Fall-Winter Bo-Ro

(so what this is old news!!!)

Yes this is probably something you have already seen if you visit the Fab Four of sneaker sites (Nicekicks, SneakerNews, TheShoeGame and KicksOnFire) but I just wanted to give it some new shine. I am sure the grown men appreciate it cause its hard to get your grown look on and still wear sneakers. Luckily UBIQ come up with a solution.

This came in 4 different colorways way back when… it still seems to be available at atmos right HERE. Originally seen on Hypebeast via Nicekicks… yeah, diggin in those sneaker crates AND being grown and sexy all at the same time lol

Diggin In The sneaker Crates: CLARKS DESERT BOOTS AUCTION FOR CHARITY

Way back when it was 2009, Clarks worked with different designers artist and such to celebrate their 60th anniversary. Look at some of the pictures, they sure came up with some interesting costume Clarks.

As you can imagine, I am particularly fond of the one Anna Heylen designed of which has the high heel shoe painted on the side of the Clarks. Best of both worlds.

Here is some detail on some of the participants:

All participants voluntary customized the Clarks Originals Desert Boot. They are a few of the millions of fans that have collected the laced shoe over it’s 60 years. Best known are probably Bob Dylan and band members of The Beatles, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. According to illustrator Piet Paris, soon Lilly Allen will walk around in his pair of customized boots. His young edition of the classic shoe is inspired by her. Karen van de Kraats’ design is called ‘ABOUT’. She used the shoes to write all kinds of facts about the desert on them. The Belgian all-round creative Franky Claeys got his inspiration from fata morganas and dazzled the shoe with pieces of mirror. A list of all participants included their inspiration and CV is enclosed with this press release.Source: Sneaker Freaker

Diggin’ In The Sneaker Crates: Air Jordan Spizike “Kings County”

(ahhh yes the Kings County Spizike… do YOU have this?)

Lets face it, the colorway for this particular Spiz’ike is off the spizzy (and not nesicarily in a good way). It can work for those with the gift to put together outfits and such, but at the end of the day the colorway was a so-so look.

Pics via Nicekicks.com

But then you put Brooklyn aka Kings County on it and now you cooking with non-dehydrogenated oil… yes I sad it.

I forget just why these were so controversial when the first pictures came on the scene, but if you wanted a sneaker that matches a card in the deck, you were happy to get these. I think these are collectibles MOSTLY because they represent Spike, Jordan and Brooklyn (home of Do The Right Thing and if I am not mistaken home of Spike Lee AND Micheal Jordan… but hey I could be wrong)

Diggng In The Sneaker Crates: Transformers Nike Free 7.0

(this is what a robot SHOULD transform too)

Just looking through my past post over the years and man have I covered some interesting topics. I mean look at this post I made back in 2007 in July. Talk about a callabo that transformed how collabos should be done… sorry I couldn’t help myself.

Just digging in those sneaker crates… July 2007 on Sneakers  & Shoes (because your feet have opinions too)

By the way, Amazon still has a few “pairs” of these left (click HERE). For whatever reason there are still more of them out there. Maybe because people aren’t as interested in Megatron than Optimus (have to admit Optimus is a better colorway pictured on top)

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates: Half Naked Goodness Has Hit The Net

Playboy Hot Chicks in Hot Kicks

(nobody is liking the model, but loving the sneakers lol WTF???)

Only on the internet can you have a debate like that. Remember when these pics came out? The comments on KicksOnFire and NiceKicks alone was crazy (and they weren’t the only sites that posted the pics). For me the model looks just fine, but I am guessing that the guys (and some women) wanted a model with more… something?

I think that maybe it was the clothes (or non-clothes) in the picture. Or maybe it was the angles the shot was taken. All I know is that the shots that suggested sex and womanhood did better than the half naked woman who is seemingly wearing sneakers.

I know one thing though… It would have been nice to  see some women in this who had some more curves. Where my full figured women at?

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates (shoe edition): The FitFlop Aurelia Gladiator Sandal

The FitFlop Aurelia Gladiator Sandal

(The FitFlop Aurelia Gladiator Sandal looks pretty good)

An interesting (to say the least) sandal for the adventurous lady looking for a new look. First seen on the Life Files on August of 2008 (so you may just as well assume that the sandal is sold out by now… in case you wanted it)

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates: Rainbow Attack 2008

There was a point that in 2008 where we would see sneakers in some fantastically crazy colorways. Eastbay (in the catalog and online) started a whole section dedicated to the colors. At this moment while I am typing, I am trying to find my old Eastbay catalogs just to show you guys how crazy it got.

But I am sure those who got the catalog from 2008 already know what I am talking about.

So just how crazy did it get?

Diggin In The Sneaker Crates (shoe edition): Roberto Coin Gold Sneaker

Roberto Coin Gold Sneaker

Roberto Coin Gold Sneaker – Luxist

To celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics, jeweler Roberto Coin has created a few unique pieces including a $31,000 golden sneaker. The sneaker is made of 24 karat gold varnished nappa leather which is then coated with a PVC lacquered film. It is finished off with an 18K yellow gold clasp and Coin’s signature small ruby.

Digging In The sneaker Crates: Custom Kicks – XBox Alpha Dunk

Custom Kicks - XBox Alpha Dunk

(now this is nice)

Man, cleaning up house for the new website debuting November 4th is helping to find all sorts of posts I didn’t make, but intended to… Well, here is another one. What is cool about this is that it actually glows in the dark (well specific parts of it deos).

This is just a  dope pair of kicks. When you get a reaction of 25 comments on a post like that, it means something. As seen on KicksOnFire.com on May 17th 2009. Just diggin in the sneaker crates…
