Diggin In The Sneaker Crates: Nike AF1 25th Anniversary – Crafting the Perfect One on Highsnobiety.com

AF1 Low Crocodile

(oh man I like this… not sure what I would wear it with though)

As seen back in 2006 of December on Highsnobiety.com (that’s right, December 2006!!! Expect more of these blast from the past posts haha) These are some real smooth sneakers. There were 2 more pair shown on the blog post that would be easier to find something to wear with them (the other 2 were all white… but a little boring)

Prosponed :_-( S and S Sunday Sports

Oh no!!! How are you guys going to find out whether or not if sneakers were harmed or shoes were hurt. I can tell you that no shoes were hurt (well maybe grazed a little) but there were sneakers harmed in the mix.

And yes I have another footwear related song for you, videos and maybe an interview (but that might not make it for this issue).

At any rate, expect to see a really late edition to come out on Tuesday Wednesday.

P.S.

I am working on some really cool stuff and a redesign of the site as well so stay tuned for that also.

Ok, This Is The Joint – Nike Air Force 1 x Huarache Hybrid

Nike Air Force 1 x Huarache Hybrid - White / White - Ice

(as seen on everyblog everywhere cause they so freakin HAWT)

(thank you Weeklydrop and Sneakerfiles for this one!!!)

Oh course I still have just on critisims… where exactly is the Huarache part of this sneaker???? lol I guess that would be my one problem with this sneaker. A Huarache patch and a symbol through the ice does not a huarache make. Maybe there is some detail I am not reading that makes these more huarache than they look… but I aint seein’ it lol

Other than that, these things are freakin AWESOME (I told myself to stop saying that word but its the first thing that comes to my mind). Clean white and the transucent light blue sole just sets it off so nicely it makes you cry. Its suppossed to release this summer (or spring) of this year. Hopefully it will not be one of those quick strike numbers they pull on us (although I will admit it should be limited but just not super limited… like thos 1/2 Hybrid Penny’s right?)

You are going to want to see more pictures so head toward the Weekly Drop for more info. Via Sneakerfiles.com

Tennis shoes wear car rubber

Babolat Propulse made with Michelin rubber from tires

(who calls sneakers tennis shoes anymore??? lol @ Autoblog for that)

These tennis shoes (of which, by the way, are made to be used… get this… for tennis… but I am just saying who says “tennis shoes”?) are made of rubber from a tire. Will this work or will it just get a so-so reaction like the Pony and PPG clear-coat paint on a sneaker? (Of which I liked, by the way, because it did what many sneaker companies try to do with patent leather all the damn time.)

Here is a quote from Autoblog.com:

With a tennis player’s movements centered around “acceleration, braking, grip and relaunch” on a variety of different surfaces, the Michelin R&D lab probably had a good idea of what kind of rubber was needed. Michelin mated rubber technology from its auto racing programs with a revised version of its Optimized Cell System that uses seamless circular micro-cells inspired by rally racing tires. The result is said to be exceptional grip and durability. And if it’s good enough for Sebastien Loeb, there’s a good chance it’s good enough for the U. S. Open…

The sneaker are limited. I would have to say that if you are collecting sneakers (and shoes) you might want to get your hands on this.  Will Nike ever do a collabo with Micheline or PPG? The world may never know.

PS

I hope Pony does that PPG thing again… i  missed out last time, but won’t do that again if they re-release some fresh ones. Definaitly a collectible because of the car paint fresh on them… crazy.
